Community Service
Our Guild is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our purpose is to provide a common organization of persons who love quilts and to educate the public about the history and artistry of quilt making. In the past we have focused on community service projects assisting such organizations as Joseph's Warriors, Wounded Warriors, Promise Pointe, and Project Gabriel. This list is not all inclusive.
Here is information about some of this year's projects.

Mid-Coast Family Services
Mid-Coast Family Services is a non-profit organization located in Victoria. Their mission is to empower children, individuals, and families to live a life free from family violence, homelessness, sexual assault, and substance abuse The Mid-Coast Crisis Center provides a safe living environment for victims of family violence and sexual assault. The quilt guild will support Mid-Coast by making quilts, pillowcases, and bags for the children residing at the Crisis Center.
The Gabriel Project
Provides Crisis Pregnancy Services for women. Â A list of items requested by the Gabriel Project will be posted on the member page. Check out their web site for more information. https://victoriagabrielproject.org
Meals on Wheels
This year we are also supporting Meals on Wheels, a local organization providing hot meals to seniors and shut-ins. We will be making fun placemats. Dimensions are listed in the button for items needed on the members' community service page.
Day 1 Bags
This organization provides duffle bags and backpacks to foster youth to use as luggage when being removed from their homes or moved from shelter to shelter. They also started a program so that graduating seniors would receive a quilt as part of a Texas-wide program. Our guild participated in this program as a guild project for the first time in 2023 signing up to make 20 quilts. Some members are still finishing up their quilts for this year’s graduates. More information for members will be on the member page including pictures of quilts. It is our plan to make quilts for seniors graduating in 2025.
Of course we will still have our Bronte Bee sessions every other month at the Victoria Public Library where members work on community service projects and make items for sale at our "Sampler Store" of goodies we sell at the Quilt Show.
